No more business as usual

To win the Midterms, we need a voter mobilization effort as expansive and unconventional as their efforts to destroy our democracy.

Why wouldn’t we put as much effort and creativity into saving our democracy as they have put into destroying it?

The Trump regime is wildly unconventional. They routinely defy and erode the democratic norms that impede their ability to consolidate power.

There can be no business-as-usual approach with our most opportune response, the mobilization of our vote. Previous methods to mobilize the vote are not sufficient because they originated during pre-Trump 2.0.

Our approach to voter mobilization should be developed in response to an authoritarian takeover and unprecedented election subversion tactics.

Authoritarian takeovers require a different approach to voter mobilization:

Reach out to voters outside our bubble.
Educate each other about election subversion.
Instill in each other the need to fight for our democracy long after current Republicans and Trump are out of office.

Election Subversion

By far, the greatest threat to the regime is the 2026 Midterms.

These corrupt, entitled oligarchs will do anything to avoid Democratic control of Congress, which could lead to loss of their power, money, and physical freedom. Their desperation requires monitoring.

Election subversion = Any attempt to change the legitimate outcome of an election.

Examples of election subversion:

voter suppression
election denial
disinformation

Election subversion awareness is crucial for the success of the 2026 Midterms and long-term democracy:

1. As people realize the lengths to which the regime will go to subvert our election, they will understand why we must dedicate so many resources to mobilization. You don’t want to bring a knife to a gunfight!

2. As the Midterms approach and protests are in full swing, Trump’s actions will become more outrageous and frequent. When our democracy faces escalated behavior from an increasingly vulnerable regime, the people will be empowered, informed, and ready.

3. A well-known and well-documented election subversion education strategy will deter bad actors from participating. The regime has installed election deniers at every level. These election workers, judges, lawyers, and politicians will be less likely to participate in subversion if met with robust public awareness and opposition. There is power in the abundance of our awareness, as it changes what is politically and socially acceptable.

4. For years, election subversion has been whittling away at our democracy with little to no opposition. Our victory this November will give way to the critical mission of demanding election-protecting legislation. Before this can happen, we must first collectively understand how subversion affects us. Thus, the 2026 Midterms will be a useful live example in which millions of people can witness first-hand the implementation and effects of subversion rather than merely learning about them after the fact.

Why Reach out to voters outside our bubble?

There’s a TON of potential to expand democracy by reaching outside our bubble.

52% of eligible voters voted in 2022.
65% of eligible voters voted in 2025.
45% of voters identify as Independent.

Inside Our Bubble = Anyone who is registered and committed to voting for Democrats.

Outside our bubble:

Independents
On-the-fence Republicans
Conservative never-Trumpers
People who aren’t engaged politically
Non-voters
First-time voters
Reformed MAGA

We reach people outside our bubble in three ways:

1. Pass out flyers outside of events, like the Home and Garden Show or fairs. If you’ve ever gone door knocking, you know that it’s difficult to get anyone to even come to the door. You might reach 10 or 20 people in two hours. By going to events to pass out flyers, you can easily reach 500 people in a couple of hours!!

2. Pass out flyers at protests and meetings. People at protests and meetings personally know people outside our bubble. They can take that flyer and talk to a cousin, coworker, or neighbor and maybe they can nudge them over the finish line.

3. Encourage people to post flyers and share them on social media.Elevate the conversation using facts about Trump’s economy before the Midterms.We also use social media to inspire others to spread democracy. If you’re successful in talking to a coworker or cousin about voting, tell the world about it!

We pass out flyers on kitchen table economics because everyone is affected by the affordability crisis.

Kitchen table economics = The daily financial concerns and decision-making processes of average households, focusing on essential, personal issues like budgeting for groceries, gas, rent, and healthcare.

According to Gallup, March 31, 2026:

61% Worry a GREAT DEAL about healthcare access & cost
51% Worry a GREAT DEAL about the economy
50% Worry a GREAT DEAL about inflation

Long-Term Democracy

All political systems are on a constantly fluctuating spectrum of democracy versus authoritarianism, including the United States. Our work does not end with a successful election. Abraham Lincoln once said, “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” If we are the masters of both the Congress and the courts, it is up to us to make it abundantly clear what we expect of them!

Our voter mobilization efforts are inherently hopeful. We believe in America and the basic decency of our fellow countrymen, which is why they warrant so much investment. Yet, our purpose doesn't end with a successful election. Peer-to-peer talking establishes a personal sense of responsibility for democracy and fosters ownership in one’s efforts. It allows a person to see the intrinsic connection between democracy, their work, and the work of those around them.

Organized, ongoing education about election subversion and all democratic backsliding is a necessary feature of every democracy, especially those still waist-deep in fascism that is permitted by a progressively deteriorating legacy media. Grassroots actions informed by independent media are how we bring this country back from the brink and build a stronger and more functional democracy.

After we win the 2026 Midterms, we must capitalize on our acute, collective memory of election subversion and immediately demand election protecting legislation of our leaders.
