The Project Pass It On meeting last night was a success. We are grateful so many democracy minded members of the community joined in. If you could not attend or just have questions about the project, please contact us at prodemocracy1776@gmail.com or check out the website.
I am sharing my motivations and experiences below and hope you will join us in talking to other members of our community about kitchen table economics - especially those outside our bubble.
As we head into the 2026 mid-term election, I ask myself, am I doing everything I can to maximize the vote to remove Republican control of my state and my country?
Republicans, more than any party, have been purchased by the wealthy to do their bidding, not to work for the people at all.
35% of registered voters in Ohio did not vote in the 2024 presidential election. Even more eligible citizens did not register to vote. For midterm elections, turnout is worse than presidential elections.
There are many voters and potential voters who do not have the facts. How can I give them important information to make them as motivated as I am, as DETERMINED to voice their opinion at the ballot box to have their interests represented?
There is so little time before November. I do not want to have any regrets.
The Plan
I have devised a plan to maximize contact and to promote conversations outside my bubble.
I will go to places where people congregate and in a friendly/neighborly way, hand them information on flyers. I will listen to their concerns, encourage them, register them to vote, and light the fire of concern about what is happening to our country.
Example Locations
Farmer’s markets
Libraries
Fairs
Family friendly local events
Past Experiences
In an hour at a library event, I can interact with 50 to 100 people.
In an hour at a public event, I can interact with 75-150 people.
This exceeds all 1 on 1 interactions by knocking on doors. It is efficient, and even fun!
The Benefits
Think of the change we can enact by increasing the number of neighbor to neighbor contacts we make!

We need to do this en masse!
Conclusion
The future of our state and country is in our hands. We have an opportunity now to make an impact and affect transformative change. Let's embrace this moment and promote conversations outside our own bubble by listening to each other's concerns and sharing factual information that impacts us all.
As we move forward, it is crucial to stay informed about these voting trends and actively participate in shaping the future of our state and country. What steps can you take to help make a positive change in the upcoming mid-terms?
It's all about The Vote!
